FAQ

Is Laser Hair right for me I had IPL before and it did not work?

Ipl uses a compelety different technology to Laser, we use a medical grade Gentle Max PRO which is the latest technology on the market place . A lot of people including myself once signed up a 6 month deal for IPL & we were promised we would be hair free for life, after going through a painful series of treatments the hair grew back and I wasted allot of money. That’s why Forever Me Clinic have teamed up with the best in the industy , permanent hair removal is a delicate science.

What’s the Differnce?

The key difference between the two treatments is that IPL uses a broad spectrum of high-intensity light, which is emitted at multiple wavelengths, whereas laser emits a single, focused and precise wavelength that's optimised for maximum follicle absorption. Laser hair removal therefore results in greater levels of permanent hair reduction per treatment when compared to IPL.

How Many Sessions will I need?

6-8 Sessions is the average in patients, however everyones hair growth cycle is different . For the face it is common between 4-6 weeks , where as the body is 6 weeks. Treating men however may take longer & for those suffering hormonal conditions such as an under- or overactive thyroid, fibroids, endometriosis and post-menopausal bleeding, which alter hair growth, may require more sessions than the average person.

Is laser suitable for all skin types?

Yes our laser is suitable for all skin types including black & Asian. Laser will not remove white hairs as there is no pigmentation to remove the hair.

Can Men use this ?

Most men require a minimum of 8 treatments and usually up to 4 top up treatments to completely remove all the hair. This is due to the higher levels of testosterone that men have, meaning that it requires more treatments to achieve smooth, hair free skin.

Is there any Precautions Before and After Laser Treatment?

We always ask our clients to come in for a free consultation and patch test prior to any treatments. You should arrive at your appointment with No deodorant or tanning products applied.

  • The area being treated cannot be exposed to the sun or sunbed. Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before your treatment, wait for tanned skin to fade before beginning your treatments. Do not bleach, pluck or wax during your course of treatments. The reason why we ask this as sun exposure may cause pigmentation in your skin & cause the skin to blister.
  • For laser hair removal, you must avoid plucking, waxing or bleaching hair for 4weeks prior to treatment. Please shave the area to be treated the day or night before your appointment.

What Happens During the Procedure

  • Safety considerations are important during the laser procedure. We will provide you with Protective eyewear.
  • A cryogen-spray or chilled-air cooling device will be used with the laser to help cool the area.

Will the laser hurt me?

The cooling spray is great, you may feel there is some mild discomfort but nothing unbearable. Everyone’s sensitivity is different but most of our clients have said it is nothing compared to the pain of waxing or threading!

Are Results Permanent?

Laser Hair Removal provides long term hair reduction. You can expect to see at least 70 to 90% reduction in hair after 6 treatments. The remaining hair grows back much finer and lighter than before treatment. Some patients come for a yearly top up.
